Students can choose whether they want to attend a part-time or full-time program.
The part-time program at Kenzie Academy costs $10,900. It’s full-time program costs $20,000. These prices are the same regardless of whether the class is taken in person or online. Although these prices may seem high, it’s because the standard of education is also high.
Kenzie Academy provides several financing options for its students, from scholarships to loans and income share agreements. Below, we’ll break down these choices for you.
The bootcamp offers partial scholarships of $4,000 for qualified students, including international students.
In 2019, Kenzie Academy partnered with Jobs for America’s Graduates to offer more than $300,000 in scholarships for high school seniors and recent alumni in Indiana, according to Indiana Inside Business.
An ISA is a popular method of bootcamp finance. It allows you to pay for your bootcamp after you get a job. At Kenzie Academy, students will pay back a portion of their wages each month for 48 months. This agreement kicks in only after the student has secured a job in which they are earning at least $40,000 annually.
Kenzie Academy has joined with Skills Fund to offer student loans. Students must fill out an application with Skills Fund to qualify for this funding option. These loans can be paid back over a period of 36 to 60 months.
In the academy’s installment plan, students will pay an initial deposit, then select their preferred repayment plan.
In the Software Engineering course, students can choose between a 12-month plan in which they will pay $1,458 per month, or a 24-month plan that requires them to pay $812.15 per month. For the UX Design Program, the 12-month payment plan consists of monthly payments of $867, and the 24-month option is divided into monthly payments of $433.
Both options have 0 percent interest and require a $500 prepayment deposit and a $100 registration fee.
At this time, Kenzie Academy does not offer GI Bill benefits for veterans.
Kenzie Academy offers two courses that can normally be attended either online or on campus.
If you choose to attend the Software Engineering program online, you will tune in to live classes via video conference. The part-time UX Design course is taught online via Kenzie Academy’s digital platform.
In this nine-month course, students will start by learning about basic software engineering tools, such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Django, MongoDB, SQL, and React. The professors are industry experts with plenty of practical knowledge about software engineering.
The program covers both backend and front end web development. Instructors will assess students’ performance through problem-solving and coding assignments, plus simple and complex app development projects.
The UX Design Career Program is for people who are specifically interested in user experience design. Over six months, students learn how to conduct user research, create high-fidelity mockups, and design mobile apps. Students will learn by completing hands-on activities, including a final two-week design project.
The program requires a commitment of 18 hours per week. The main goal is to develop interactive products for all types of users that can solve everyday problems.
Kenzie Academy is open to all, but to get in, you must meet several requirements. The school expects its students to be committed, determined to learn, and enthusiastic about programming. A high school degree and English fluency are also prerequisites.
Kenzie Academy has not publicized its acceptance rate.
The Kenzie Academy application process is not complicated. It consists of four steps, as seen below.
During the call with your Kenzie Academy adviser, you will have to answer several specific questions. These will likely not be very technical. Below, is a sample of some things you may be asked in your coding bootcamp interview.
Before entering Kenzie Academy, students will be asked to complete a short course called Launchpad.
During these introductory lessons, students will complete activities and assignments to bring them up to speed on the fundamentals of software engineering. Some of the languages and programs used in Launchpad are HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Bash, and Git.

Kenzie Academy is a great place for learning. They welcome students from diverse backgrounds to learn useful skills in a meaningful way that will actually prepare you for the “real” world. They teach skills that you cannot learn in a month long bootcamp and provide a more well-rounded experience than you can find anywhere else. The first year is front/back end development and the second year is a paid internship. You cannot find this kind of educational set up anywhere else. They also offer an income share agreement that will keep you free from student loan debt. For me, Kenzie Academy was pretty much a no-brainer when I decided it was time to take a drastic step in advancing my career potential.

I’ve been part of the 2nd user experience design chort at Kenzie Academy for 7 months now and i could not be in a better place. When starting at Kenzie I knew almost nothing about UX design but over the past 7 moths I can say i feel more than job ready. Along with the second half of my one year track whitch is front end development . I am now learing how i can take all the designs i’ve man and actually build them in a full functioning app/website. Dont feel like I am dragging my self into class everyday like some of my college experience was like. I enjoy feeling like im a real work environment learning hands on how my day to day might feel like at a real company.

I am in my upper 20’s, changed my career, previous college degree (unrelated), minor (very minor) experience in coding coming in to Kenzie.
I was looking for an out of my previous career and found this. I liked that this education model includes the ISA, it shows that the school won’t succeed unless the students do. After I graduated I ended up finding a poisition on my own efforts through networking and applying on my own. I was provided opportunities through the school’s resources but either someone else was selected or the the position was less than ideal, (why I gave 4 out of 5 in job assistance).
There are multiple opportunities to teach and coach others, or be coached, so gives a full breadth of experience. I will say the majority of the curriculum is really solid, and can teach a beginner what they need to know, but like any fast track programs I recommend putting in effort outside of core hours, and look beyond the scope of what they are teaching. I do see room for improvement in the back end curriculum, I suppose that would be my only ‘complaint’, but it was still really good. (curriculum would be 5/5 if they improved the backend)

I just wanted to start off by saying how grateful I am to have found Kenzie Academy during this process of “Getting into Tech” journey. I have discovered another side of me that I’ve given up on due to life-changing events (liked becoming a full-time mom). After going through several assignments/assessments at Kenzie Academy, it has become extremely rewarding to test my capability and knowledge during the learning process. I was so used to doing self-paced learning that when I had access to a coaching/mentorship at Kenzie, I knew I was in good hands and I was no longer afraid to fail. Whenever I had a question or felt stuck on a problem, I always knew I could find help/assistance. They are very supportive and really believe in you. I mean, for a year, they are investing in you without getting paid in return during that time, that tells you that they are trying to change the way education works now and for the future. Everyday, I seriously get excited waking up to look forward to what I’ll get to learn next at Kenzie. They have given me a new purpose in my career pathway and I am forever grateful!

Kenzie offers a hands-on learning environment where you learn by doing rather than sitting in front of a lecturer and trying to retain that information. You learn how to learn fast.I love this project based learning aspect at Kenzie. The environment is great. Instructors are super supportive and go above and beyond. You not only learn to code but you will also learn the soft skills needed . Overall my experience at Kenzie so far is amazing. The curriculum is current.
