What Courses Does Springboard School Offer?

Springboard offers several career track programs, including in Software Engineering, UX/UI Design, Data Analytics, and Cyber Security. Each course features unlimited one-on-one mentorship, hands-on projects, and career support. The coursework will include articles, videos, and exercises.

In each of these courses, you will attend weekly calls with your mentor. Because these courses are self-paced, you can track your own progress and check off projects as you work your way through the curriculum.

The school’s courses are broken down into four categories, as seen below.

Data Science – Online

There are four data science courses at Springboard, including the Data Science Career Track, Data Science Career Track Prep, ML Engineering Career Track, and the Data Engineering Career Track. All of these courses take six months to complete.

The Data Science Bootcamp was designed for those with prior coding experience, including software developers, analyasts, and finance professionals. The Machine Learning Bootcamp is for those who want to become a machine learning engineer, and who have at least one year of relevant professional experience or a master’s degree.

The data science and data engineering courses cover coding with Python, statistical inference, and machine learning techniques. The ML Engineering course gets further into deep learning, image processing, and how to deploy machine learning systems.

Data Analytics – Online

The six-month Data Analytics Career Track is ideal if you love problem-solving and critical thinking.

In these lessons, you will learn how to analyze business problems, categorize data using SQL, and to visualize data using Python. During the course, you will complete two projects in which you’ll utilize your new skills in end-to-end analysis and synthesizing insights.

Prerequisites for the program include two years of work experience using office, design, or programming tools.

Cyber Security – Online

In this six-month course, you will start off by learning about cyber security fundamentals such as threat types and malware. Then, you’ll move on to more advanced concepts like how to authorize access to a system to keep it secure, and how to conduct risk assessments and check for vulnerabilities.

Throughout the coursework, you will complete labs on each of these topics to test your skills. The final project involves putting all your skills together to address a security risk using the testing and problem-solving techniques you’ve learned.

Design – Online

There are three different design course options at Springboard, including Introduction to Design, a UI/UX Design Career Track, and a UX Career Track.

The Introduction to Design course is a way for you to decide if you want to pursue a career in design. New cohorts for this course start every Monday. The course costs $349, but you will get this amount taken off your tuition in the UX or UI/UX Career Track should you decide to move on to that course.

The nine-month UI/UX Career Track includes many design projects which you’ll compile into a portfolio and use on your job search. Topics covered in this course include design thinking, interaction design, and wireframing. You’ll learn to create website designs with Sketch, Adobe XD, and Figma.

To enter the six-month UX Career Track, you must have at least one year of experience in a design-related job. During this course, you’ll learn how to conduct user research, how to use designs to solve users’ problems, and how to create website prototypes Sketch and Adobe XD.

Coding – Online

There are two coding courses at Springboard. One is the Software Engineering Career Track, and the other is the Prep Course associated with this career track.

The Software Engineering Career Track Prep Course takes four to six weeks to complete, and covers web basics such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

The nine-month Software Engineering Career Track covers all elements of front end and backend web development. You’ll learn programming languages like JavaScript, Python, and SQL, and how they can be used together to create full stack applications. This program includes several projects so you can put your design skills to the test.
